Fit the song to the screen

On a tablet or computer, Play Mode shows the whole song in columns, and turns pages when it is too long. Fit the song to the screen

  • Fit replaces the Columns setting: it picks the columns and the text size for you.

  • Set the smallest text and the most columns Fit may use in Play Mode's settings.

Follow Me

Start Play Mode on your phone and the tablet on the stand opens the same song and scrolls along. Whichever device you press Play on leads the rest. Read the Follow Me guide

  • Follow Me: turn it on in Settings > Features, or from the gear in Play Mode.
  • The Play Mode header says Leading on the device you play from and Following on the others.
  • Leading only shows when another device is open to follow it.
  • Press Play on any device to lead from there. Exit on the leading device and every follower exits too.
  • Auto-scroll follows too: start it on the leading device and every follower scrolls along, paced to reach the bottom together.
  • Cmd+Shift+, (Ctrl+Shift+, on Windows) opens Settings from anywhere in the app.

  • The end-of-song countdown shows on every follower, in sync with the leading device, so nobody is surprised by the next song.
  • Rejoin, or join mid-song, and you land where the leading device is reading, not at the top.
  • The end-of-song pill names the next song's capo and key, and its instrument when it is not a guitar.
  • Glance ahead on a follower: flip a page and it pauses following until you rejoin.
  • Follow Me needs an internet connection on every device for now. A phone hotspot is enough.

  • Fixed: taking an update could show the Update available prompt a second time right after the reload.

  • Play Mode and print are now part of every offline sync, so they open offline after a sync completes.

  • Navigating while offline no longer waits on the network before showing the cached page.
