Organizing songs with folders

Group your songs into folders, move them individually or in bulk, and import directly into a folder. Drag-and-drop on desktop, long-press on mobile.

Folders let you group songs by project, genre, band, or whatever works for your library. They sit in your song list alongside unfoldered songs. Each song can belong to one folder at most.

Creating a folder, moving songs into it, and navigating back to the main library.

Creating a folder

Click the + button above the song list and choose New folder. Type a name, then tap Create or press Enter. The folder appears immediately.

You can also open the + dropdown in the top bar and pick New folder from there, or create a folder on the fly when moving a song (see below).

Creating a new folder from the + button above the song list.

Adding songs to a folder

Drag a song

Grab any song row and drop it onto a folder. The folder highlights as you drag over it. If you have songs checked in bulk select mode, dragging any one of them moves the whole selection.

From the ... menu

Open the ... menu on any song (in the song list, the song view, or the editor) and choose Move to. Pick a folder from the panel that slides open, or choose New folder to create one on the spot. The song moves immediately and the sidebar opens the destination folder.

Bulk select and move

Open the ... menu on any song and choose Select. This enters bulk select mode with that song already checked. The bulk toolbar appears at the top of the list. Tap more checkboxes to add songs to the selection, or hold Shift and click to select a range.

Open Move to in the toolbar and pick a folder, or choose New folder to create one. All selected songs move at once and the sidebar navigates into the destination.

Using Select from the ... menu to enter bulk mode, then moving multiple songs to a folder using the Move to button in the bulk toolbar.

On mobile, tap and hold a song row to open its menu, then choose Select.

Click any folder to open it. The folder view shows only the songs inside. Click the back arrow in the folder header to return to the main library.

If you navigate to a song that lives in a folder, the sidebar opens that folder for you automatically.

Renaming and deleting

Desktop: right-click the folder header to open a menu with Rename and Delete options.

Mobile: long-press the folder title.

Deleting a folder does not delete its songs. They move back to the main library automatically.

Bulk delete

Select songs with checkboxes and tap the trash icon in the bulk toolbar. A confirmation dialog shows the count before anything is removed. Deleted songs cannot be recovered.

Importing into a folder

The import preflight screen has a Add to folder picker. Choose an existing folder or create a new one. All successfully imported songs land there.

You can also drag files directly onto a folder row to import them straight into that folder, skipping the picker.

Search and filters

Searching or applying a filter flattens the view: all matching songs appear in one list regardless of which folder they belong to. A small badge next to each song name shows which folder it lives in.

Clear the search to return to the folder view.
